    Angry mmsound.drv

    When removing a video card from a pc (doesn't matter what make video) after restarting, windows comes up with the error : Error loading mmsound.drv please re-install windows, i reinstall windows and it doesn't help, the only way i have found is to wipe the harddrive and start from scratch.
    Can anybody help me???? i need to know why it does this and a soloution (other than formatting)

    The make of the card can matter. S3 based cards, for instance, tie up COM 3. So what kind of card did you take out and what did you put in?

    in 2 cases i took the S3 card out and replaced it with a ATI, one case all i had done was removed a Cirrus Logic card from the settings in Windows, not from inside the PC.
