[RESOLVED] Is there a way to downgrade DirectX?
Ok guys, I'm stumped again. I upgraded DirectX to version 8.0 and managed to kill several games in the process. Does anyone know a way to drop back without a format and reinstall?
Thanks in advance

Sorry,
Once you upgrade to the Direct X you can never go back to the light side (or dx7) They do however have a patch to DX 8.0, Check the web site for DX 8.0A. It fixed a lot of my video problems. I have an ATI 32 DDR Radeon

Do a search for directxbusters, its a program that uninstalls directx8 in win9X, doesn't work in Win2K. I have used it a dozen times in different machines and it works great.

I'll tell you what I was told.. " your looking for a shortcut, or a way around the obvious..(reinstalling windows). Shortcuts can(and ususally do) cause more problems than they solve.. " Good Luck

I've used Directx Buster to be rid of the dreaded Directx 8 (which I ended up not being the main problem I was having...but wanted to go back to my friendly DX 7), and my system is running great. No problems. Though, after reinstalling DX 7 I reinstalled my Vid drivers and, therefore, my VIA drivers.
