I need some major help
Guest
[RESOLVED] Massive Blue Screen of Death
system Specs
AMD-k7-800mhz
128 megs ram(2 64meg PC100 chips)
a TNT2 Video Card with 32megs ram
Sound Blaster 128bit sound
20.5 gig hard drive
I just bought this system, since i set it up i have been getting the BSOD all the time, i would just be sitting at the computer Reading a manual on on Windows 98se then the computer would go to the BSOD. I have gotten errors in Wsock2, VFAT, Vcashe, NDIS, and more. I reinstalled windows98se 2 times since i got it(formated each time) and still have problems. I dont get what could be causeing this.
could this be a problem caused by bad ram? because on of the chips in this computer was taken out of my old computer and added in to this one. the other chip is brand new

Make sure that you have an adequate power supply to support your Athlon processor. If you do have a OK Power supply, then my best guess would probably be the processor overheating, since bad RAM chips tend to manifest themselves with errors that always occur at ONE memory location.

Can't hurt to run the machine with one DIMM at a time. One or both could have a problem.

Make sure your mobo drivers are all there. i.e. Hard Disk Controller, AGP controller, and such. If it's something weird like Ali or VIA, SE is not going to know WTF it is.
