[RESOLVED] Can you change those baby looking ICONS for XP?

"Is there a way of getting rid of those crappy new ICONS in windowsXP? I think they look babyish. I haven't got windowsXP yet but I know you can turn off the luna desktop but will that revert back to windowsME icons as well as the interface? example > for the favorites icon it has a BIG Yellow star, but on the good old windowsME icon it has a blue * which looks more professional. There are other icons as well which I don't like. I think the only one I do like is the music Icon.

two choices

(1) don't install Windows XP

(2) use a piece of software called "icon packager", which will allow you to create a new set of custom system icons, download it from http://www.stardock.com/products/iconpackager/
dunno if it works with XP (never tried it cos i actually like the XP icons) but worth a shot if yer really desperate to change.

yes use icon packager its great as you can see in my desktop view from another thread im using it ...

If you are speaking about the cruddy "My Computer" and "Trash Can" Icons, than yes, there is a way to change them without the beforementioned software. I know it's in you display settings. I've only touched XP once, and havn't had a chance to play with it any further, but if you find the tab to change the overall appearance back to "Windows Classic" from "Windows XP", and go into customize or something. Dig around a bit, it's there. It'll let you change the icons, and they have all the old icons from Win98se, or Win2k, Me if you so desire.
Gives off a more business look.

"Thanks guys, your info is real helpfull but there is one little problem. You know you can have the favorites icon next to your back and forward buttons on my windowsMe it is a nice folder with a blue star in the middle but on windowsXP it looks like a big golden star, would you be able to change this? cheers.
