okay stuff like soundcards don't usually just die .... so we need some details this is almost certainly some s/w glitch somewhere's.....

    So - ?

    Operating system please 9x/W2K/Xp ....
    Sound card model
    Motherboard model
Any 'extenuating' circumstances .... recent s/w added, driver updates done anything you think might have changed something

If you know how, can you tell us what it says in device manger about the errant sound card (If you don't somebody can give instructions later....)

We can take it from there

There's ways to figure it out.... & somebody will help, as long as you help us by providing info when we ask....

So to both you & Ssnake (the original questioner) please can you provide your bios string (That's a big long number like "06/17/96-001430vx-2a59HtBC-00" or similar, this pops up just after post (read 'beep') generally in the bottom left of the screen, just before windoze kicks in) this will describe your motherboard to us....

Then if you can provide any other info like I asked above, we can fix it, well you can, but we'll tell you how....
