Tech-To-Tech Mod
utility?
anyone have a good utility that makes it easier to change the computer name and join a pc to a domain. As usual going to roll out a bunch of workstations from a ghost image. they all (obviously) have the same computer name and are set as workgroup after the ghost. I figured someone might have a handy utility to do this that cuts down on the amount of mouse clicks it takes to do it the normal way.

Computer name / domain are not the only thing that you should consider.
IMHO the most important thing is SID (Security ID which is generated by mini-setup phase).
The best way to deploy from Image is by using sysprep. sysprep can be found in the deploy.cab (search it in Win2k and XP cd's THE VERSIONS ARE NOT THE SAME!!!!).
I use Ghost/PQDI a lot and you can do without it.
Before I do the Image i execute the sysprep and Shut the system.
Hope I have helped you,
Gabriel

I strongly second Gabriel's advice. Sysprep is the only way to go. You can use the GhostWalker utility that came with Ghost to accomplish the same thing but with a lot more manual intervention. Sysprep can create an automated response file that requires you to put nothing in but the PC name if you so desire.
