Agere modem
Just got a new Presario sr1220nx with a Agere Systems PCI Soft modem.
I transfered my Caller ID program from my old computer but it does seem to work on the new one. My question is...Does the "Soft" in the discription mean that it can be programed by software?? My old modem was a V.92 modem which worked on CID and I would like to know if my Agere is a V.96 or can it be programed to run CID. I tried to get the informati from the Compaq help line and it was like talking to someone in India ....
