visioneer 7100
I have a visioneer 7100, and I am getting an error message when I use windows xp scanner and camera wizard I am getting the message " The current picture could not be copied, try again" and than the same thing happens again. I have tried reinstalling the driver from the visioneer website, and using all the software tools on that website. This is the second visioneer 7100 that I have owned and had the exact same prolbem with. I bought both of them used. the real kicker is that the second one that I bought, the first and only time that I used it, it worked, after that it doesn't I highly doubt i have two bad scanners unless it is posssbile that something in my computer is killing them. Is there any way I can use logging to tell exactly what is happening?

Have you got the latest drivers?

I tried installing the latest driver. I did it from device manager update driver, still the same problem. The only time this device worked correctly was after a fresh install of windows

What other photo programs have you tried - they actually mention Adobe Photoshop.

Some good info about scanner troubleshooting even if it isn't the same scanner - the filters issue is an area to seriously look into.

The only other software that I have used is the software that came with the scanner, but I am still having the same issue. I am going to try the fileters issue.

Paul62, since you bought both scanners used, and Visioneer lists the model as End of Life (meaning too darn old to support) why would you be surprised that they quit working? No co-incidence here; they're old products.
Nevertheless, there are a couple of ways to test the scanner. Simplest is to try it on another computer. You might also try Vuescan's free trial software.
