    Post USB Host Controller

    Hi,

Could anyone point me in the right direction please. I have an old PII 233 system that is running Win Me. The only ID on the MOBO is MB686LX1. I have the yellow !!! mark in the Device Manager asking for the Intel 82371AB/EB PCI to USB Universal Host Controller.

    Thanking you in advance.

    Regards

    Paul

Are the usb ports enabled in bios? Some of the older mobo's has this turned off.

I had this problem when I was fixing old computers at my school. We had to find out who made the mobo and get drivers for the devices that that didn't get installed but were recognized by Windows (like PCI steering and controllers).

Did the computer come with cd's from the comp manufacurer or the mobo maker? If so, try to install the driver from device manager and point it to the cd. You might have to point it to different folders to find it. Somtimes it's hit and miss. Also try to find out who made the mobo and then contact them about drivers.

    Hope this helps!
