[RESOLVED] win 98 and Outlook Express 5
I am now (since the install of SE) having newsgroup problems. On large binary newsgroups with over 5000 messages when I try to combine and download I get "unknown error occurred ) about halfway through the DL. Also I cannot access some news groups because it says "unable to display this folder" possible causes full disk or low memory. Ok I have about 10 gigs of HD space ( a 500 meg swapfile ) and 256 megs of ram. Exactly how much ram do I need to open a news group. This never happened even with groups with 8000+ messages with the older windows versions.

Why is it that everyone loves MS so much, they insist on using even the crudest software from them?
Got mail troubles, get Eudora or Pegasus, both free for personal use.
Got usenet troubles, get Free Agent or NewsExpress, both free.
Got FTP troubles, get EleetFTP, CuteFTP, or even WS_FTP.

I tried Out lool express 5 and it was OK but it had no spell check, Also when I formatted and reinstalled Win 95 I lost soem importent emails even though I backed up the folder and that is where I told Out look to save my messages
I am now back running Eudora pro 4.1 and I highly reccomend it since virus creators seem to like using Out look to distribute their wicked products ( The latest is the worm viris )
