Just a few suggestions to try -
Q. Is the SCSI card controlling the Tape device sharing an IRQ with anything ?
A. Try changing it's IRQ or moving the card to another PCI slot.
Or
Q. Does it 'GPF' if you remove the SCSI card ?
A. Again an IRQ problem / Or SCSI driver problem / Or faulty SCSI controller.
Or
Most GPF's (Only from personell experience) are caused by faulty RAM or Faulty/Overheating CPU.
Good luck in solving it !

MScan - is a mcafee Anti-Virus File (as far as I remeber)
remove Mcafee and reinstall.

Yes, it's McAfee. Update or uninstall. There are several versions out there that cause all kinds of problems.
