    Cool Cisco routers 2516/2524 setup

hey ppl! I would like to setup these two routers in a WAN configuration. I am trying to simulate a connection between two buildings, one router in each building with Win2k Server on one and Win2kpro on the other. How do I connect the two routers? What type of cable do I need? Which ports do I use? Here are the routers configuration.HOpe this helps. Any help is appreciated

Depends, if your 2524 has the optional high-speed serial port, then you can connect the two routers with CSD/DSU cables. The cables will simulate a high-speed link (T1, T3, or whatever speed you chose).

Let me know what is on the back of your 2524 router and I can give you a better idea - KN

hey thanks for the reply! my 2524 has 2 serial ports. I believe they're 'high speed'(DB-60)? And my 2516 has 1 serial/Ethernet AUI port(DB-15). I also have a CSU/DSU that is not connected to anything. What does a CSD/DSU cable actually look like? Would a regular CAT-5 work? Would really like to set these puppies up & start prepairing for the CCNA exam

    -thanks

To connect two routers back-to-back with HSSI, attach a null modem cable CAB-HNUL= (Part Number 72-0727-01) between the HSSI ports.

Read that. You have to configure one side to be the dce.
