SoundMAX for DOS???
I have a HP XE310 with SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio. I need to run the machine in DOS, is there a driver for this sound card available?
Or is there an old driver that might be compatible? Maybe one of the SBs...?
Many thanks
Deke

Ah, sorry. SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio is all it says under device manager.
It's currently using driver 5.12.1.3620 dated 27/05/2003 if that's any help (under XP).
Where should I look to get more info?

AD1885 according to this
While there are no dos drivers for this (although I did come across an open source project which I now can't find) if the game will run in XP then the dos emulation should kick in for the sound as well.
If you are looking to use a true dos environment, grab yourself a card thats properly supported under dos.

Thanks NooNoo. I tried to use the Compatibilty Mode (is that what you mean by DOS emulation?), but I'm not sure how to make it work. This would be the best option all round I think.
