"Data is Invalid" wirless keyboard/mouse

I just bought a new wireless keyboard and mouse set.. MX5000 Laser to be exact. I had also recently purchased a lower grade set which wouldn't work due to the drivers not properly installing. I brought it back for this one and I still get the same error, The Data is Invalid. I've been up all night trying to figure out what to do to get this set to work. Appreciate any help I can get and if anyone needs more info feel free to ask! Thanks in advance.
