modem not recognized!!
I am currently using aol and have no problem connecting with them. My problem is when I try to use Dial-up networking. When I try to make a new connection, win 98 tries to detect my modem....it fails to do so and then asks to pick from a list. After I pick from the list, it still does not recognize modem and again tries to detect it. What can I do to stop this and to make windows detect my modem? I need help!!!! Thanks

What kind your modem is? Is it PnP or WinModem?
Or may be there are jumpers for COM and IRQ?
If it is so, try to change COM Port
COM 2 - IRQ 3
COM 3 - IRQ 4
COM 4 - IRQ 3
Don't use COM 1 - generally it's a mouse's Port (if not PS2).
Also try Standard Modem.
