    Question CTX bIOS PASSWORD

Well a customer brought in a ctx laptop a few days ago, because he changed his password, and forgot it! After three attempts the systems locks down. I am the 3rd tech to work on it in this city and the others told him to contact CTX. Well that is a joke, since I have already tried with no luck. I removed the bios chip for 24 hours, still held setting, i also tried to shorting the battery---nothing. Any idea on how to reset this password?? I really hate to blow the guy off like everyone else?? Thanks

Is there not a CMOS battery in the machine? You said you removed the bios chip - but no batt. If there is then remove the bios batt, regular batt, and unplug it for awhile. If you have already tried that then is there no jumpers for resetting CMOS? Some laptops (IBM) will hold a password no matter what...

I have had IBM thing pads on my bench with power on locks that had to be removed by IBM and only IBM factory reps. I would have liked to have the money for the repair but we had to give it to Big Blue.
