I haven't got ICQ, but I sure could use them.
The set of definitions I have now doesn't work right. When I run a virus scan it freezes at 99%. And Norton won't give me anymore definitions unless I subscibe and I have no credit card to do so

With older versions of NAV, you could edit the registry to extend your subscription. I think the latest (2001) has some sort of checking the insure that you haven't cheated and given yourself more time.

As a quick workaround, just reset your system date to a date when your subscription was valid and then run LiveUpdate. It'll let you grab the latest updates, and then you can reset your system date to normal, and NAV won't complain at all.

This may be stupid, but if I'm not mistaken, you don't have to use the automated updating system. On the front page of Windrivers, you can follow the link and download the latest A/V updates directly from Norton..

Doesn't matter how you get the definitions at some point it will ask you to subscribe when you are running the update. My company downloads it then distributes it out to each individual and we still get "disabled" after a while.
