    Post Team Fortress 2

I haven't heard anything about Team Fortress 2 for a long time, but Counter Strike, and even more so the new counterstrike that's coming out sound a lot like Team Fortress 2. Does anyone know if Valve decided to scrap the Team Fortress project and let Counter strike run the show, or know what's up?

There still seems talk about TF2 on their website but there are times I am beginning to wonder if it will be on the shelf at the same time as the following titles...
    --Prey (FAMOUS vaporware)
--Duke Nukem Forever (obviously taking forever now with an outdated engine... at the time it would have been cool but since they are about to come out with Unreal Tournament 2 and Unreal 2... and the "new" Duke game using the ORIGINAL Unreal engine.... hmmmm... you tell me)
If it aint broke, TWEAK it!
When in doubt, throw it out!!

I wouldn't write it off just yet. Quake2 and Soldier of Fortune used the same engine, but you couldn't tell. Engines are regularly be modified to look better. Besides, you gonna let the fact that it's graphics may not be bleedin' edge deter you from some a** kickin and bubble gum chewin .

I wont let it deter me, but the general public has been known to. Look at Anachronox (sp) it was based on the Quake 2 engine and from what I heard it didnt sell too good.

In the day of the GeForce 4, 5, 6 and whatever else to come and all these consoles... people want eye candy.

HEY Jaeger... did you even respond to what I said to you about what you said about Quake 3 Excessive????

Anachronax's main problem was that it was an RPG. SP RPG's very rarely sell that well nowadays. I personally liked it and the graphics were pretty damn good.

I'll set for mildly believable with great stories and gameplay. Lotsa utterly inferior games with nice graphics.

Nah, that was about to degenerate into something that would have been locked. I insulted a game you enjoyed and the people who played it and you insulted me. That exchange could have gotten messy. Though if you want, start a similar topic in the steam room and I'll respond.

i have seen previews of TFC 2 you can download but this was a while ago , the game looked really sweet.

i think instead of comming out with a TFC2 they should make a new half life game another sequal a real sequal not like stupid blue shift which was a waste of money.

they should make a sequel and through the half life squel it should include TFC 2

We can do that or we can do things the way I suggested.... you try some Quake 3 Excessive with an open mind and I will try whatever game or mod you suggest. I dont stick with one game or one style of game.... I like variety.

i really doubt TFC2 will ever come out. The idea was to be much like counter-strike is now, but nothing, i mean nothing, can compete with Counter-Strikes status now. which kinda sucks.
