I don't see how MDA (Model Driven Architecture) could help with your problem as it has nothing to do with video rendering:

Tried new drivers?

MDA is in the Video options window in Bios... It didn't make any sense to me why it was in the video menu. but video is where i'm having problems.

Yeah, I just looked at a screen shot of the manual and saw it, and their manual or their site says nothing about it!!
Perhaps you should email Asus as this may be something proprietary to them, and let us know what they say.

It isn't proprietary
(1 beep) Test MDA/CGA video memory unless EGA/VGA adapter is found
Talk about backwards compatibility....
Historically, the video BIOS has been around since the first IBM PC. The motherboard ROM BIOS contained a set offunctions for screen I/O on both the Color Graphics Adapter (CGA) and the Monochrome Display Adapter (MDA). Withthe introduction of the Enhanced Graphics Adapter (EGA) in 1985, and then the Video Graphics Array (VGA) in 1987,more functions were added to handle the new capabilities of each adapter.

MDA as in model driven architecture..not as in monochrome display adapter..is a feature some graphics cards support if they are designed explicitly for CAD programs

MDA - Monochrome Display Adapter (TTL), DB9 Male Connector or RCA Jack 9", Green or Yellow phosphour
Edit
Ah, just noticed your edit.
I can't see how it could be that, though.
We need to ask Asus.
After this post I'll check your link.
