The situation is the following:

I have dual boot configuration with 3 partitions, all NTFS;
p1: XP Pro (boot, 10Gb, c
p2: XP MCE (boot, 10Gb, c
p3: extended partition with data (60Gb, d

This third (data) partition is therefore available to both Os-es for common
data etc.
On this partition no programs are installed. Purely for data purpose.

If I choose now p1 or p2 to boot, each time CHKDSK starts and comes with an enormous list with errors, this error fixing/procedure van not be
interrupted. I tried it for more then 1/2 hour and then I turned the PC off.
When rebooting and skipping chkdsk, both OS-es just boot normal and i can work in both also with files etc. from p3-D:

The error is: "Replacing invalid security id with default security id for
file xxxxx
."

If I start up the PC again (and/or skip CHDSK) it all goes ok and there
seems to be no problems, I can use the whole partition and files in/with
both OS-es.

I know that security problems can occur through the use of these ' shared '
partition through 2 Os-en.

One solution could be converting the partition into FAT32, but I don't want
that (large files etc.)

Also the fsutil gives errors; saying that d: is dirty.....

I tried HD utilities; physically there are no problems with the disk.
Chkntfs d: also indicates that ' errors ' have been found.....
Tried chkdsk /f d: , same story (that is waht actually happens automatically offcourse)

Can I overcome/solve this problem?
In a way i would think that i should tell both OS-es not to make any use of any security settings on partition 3 (D.....or something....

thx
