[RESOLVED] system keeps rebooting with XP CD
Hello all,
I am trying to do a complete recovery on a system. When I put the manufacturer's WinXP cd in, it boots off it normally. Detects hardware, gets all the way to the screen where ou choose what you want to do, then reboots. No error message, just restarts itself.
Memory checks out, hard drive checks out. Windows XP is still on the HD, I have not blanked it yet. It still boots into windows normally.
HD is Sata. I have tried another power supply with the same results.
One note: This system has a PCI-E video card in it, which has a few slightly swollen capacitors on it - the video card runs very hot. I pulled it first thing and put in a older PCI card, but it didn't fix the problem.
Any suggestions?
