Computer Startup Probs
I am out of town, but am having problems on one computer..
Recently installed a program, "How things work"..
sent to us by Customer Service Center, as a free gift..
anyways, it has screwed up the computer in a way.
Recently you boot, it had a VKD error..
Problem with config.sys about Stackspace..
but i checked the config.sys and it didn't have a setting for stack space..
I used a start up disk (win98 SE) and replaced all the files that are used to boot
have also tryed
a:\> sys c:
which copies the system files to the C drive..
this works, everytime.. but once you RESTART, and the computer has to read the startup files again.. it gives the same error
Have uninstalled the program, and such, but same thing
Anyone have an idea of what we could do?
thanks

Click here for a post from earlier this month.
For more info on this particular problem, click on search (above the description of the topic) and search for "stacks" without the quotes. Set the forum to search in Windows 95/98 for the most info.
Sometimes the most difficult problems have the most obvious solutions - they just get overlooked.
