Resources usually mean, in that particular context, memory (both physical and virtual). So check how much hard drive space you have left.

I agree with NPaladin, this sounds like a low memory situation, but without information about the machine, it's impossible to say.

Most likely you're systray/startup folders have lots of tasks that run in the background. Many of these can be moved out of the way. Either by moving the shortcuts from the startup group to another like "startbak" (create this yourself) or using msconfig (w98 and newer). Worst case there is a registry branch that can be modified to reduce this usage. Most newpc's from the store have 59-82% resources. I can't tolerate a machine with less than 90% at boot. More like 94-98% if i can manage it, with my combo of stuff.

I have opened a new file as startbak and hopefully it will work. I will let you know.

Go to Start/ Run and type msconfig. Click on startup tab and see what is loading at startup. Added programs often load so they will start faster. I disable what I don't want loaded. It's no biggie if I wait an extra 5 seconds for a program to load when I use it. The only thing showing on the right hand side when I bootup is the clock.
