Which burner?
What system?
what OS?
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."

Nothing that a dab of liquid paper won't fix.(and you can remove it too)
Note: To correct display problems, hold the "ALT"key and press"F4".

imediate answer : we call it tippex
long term , try the drive in another machine to see if it is faulty, and/or check cable , jumper settings etc.
if working ok on other machine, then elaborate further.
if not send it back for a replacement.
as we have no knowledge of your setup , it would be easier to illiminate the cd (being faulty) on another machine , before proceeding with further questions
good luck with your quest ,,,and post a reply

Do what freddy suggested – try it in another machine. Also I would make sure all your drivers are current including your BIOS.
Be sure to post your results.

thanks. i will try it in another machine, but given that there are no new drivers for it, and it does not affect operation in any way, but is just annoying, i may go for the tipex
