Overclocking P3 450 ?
P3 450, GIGABYTE BX 2000 , 128 PC 100.
Is it safe to overclock????????
also I am considering upgrading to P3 550
ANT TIP'S OR COMMENTS?

WHAT IS THE ORIGINAL SPEED OF THE P3 TO BEGIN WITH?... IF YOU OVERCLOCK IT MAKE SURE YOU HAVE EXTRA FANS ON THAT SUCKER BECAUSE IT'S GOING TO GET MIGHTY HOT IN YOUR CASE.
LET ME KNOW HOW IT WORKS OUT.

yeah, it's safe o overclock just don't get too nuts! generally, the 450 isn't that forgiving in the oc area. however, there are programs that can and actually work too keep your cpu at it's coolest. program of choice is cpuidle. am curently running a pIII 500 oc'd @ 600. temp. has never reached anything over 32c. without cpuidle my system operated at an average of 45-52c. give it a shot.
