    Talking Logitech Cordless Mouse

Has anyone had any problems, after installing Windows ME, with the smooth tracking of their mouse? My Logitech, now, is so sparratic its pitiful. Even with the mouseware installed, makes doing my work impossible. I am willing to attempt a solution, although Win98 is about to come back and ME will go back to the store in via the shredder.

No, mine worked perfectly when I had ME on.

    Cool

Also, have you tried re-installing the Mouseware software ?? That may solve your problem.

Just a small point, I never bother with the mouseware at all on any OS. The benefits it gives you are so minimal I don't find it worth it.

Yes I had checked the receiver unit, put fresh batteries in, reinstalled software. It is a little better now, but still having problems. Makes me love MS that much less.

Oh well, perhaps I will just go back to Linux on this box for a while. haha.

    Thanks all.

I found that Win ME had direct support for my track man marble +, I went to device manager ,selected mouse , and selected updated driver, forced ME to display a list, went to logitech and selected my trackman
I don't use that mouseware since it loads an extra application in the back ground
Check and see if your mouse is listed and use that driver
you may be forced to do a clean install of Win ME

I have to agree with Paul Cunningham.
I did a fresh install of WinME on a new build and my logitech cordless works best when I treat it like any other mouse and not install the special software for it.
When I had the software loaded it skipped like crazy and got me killed real quick playing Diablo II.

I noticed that myself...seems that ME will only happily co-exist with Intellimouse.....not third party software. It's starting to get to the point that the only software that will reliably run under a Microsoft OS is Microsoft software....

I use the Logitech mouseman wheel
with Mouseware, and a standard microsoft
    Ps2 mouse .
I then change my report rate of the ps2 mouse to 200, cant play diablo2 with my logitech to heavy.
Never had any problems so far.

Even that's a rarity..... Since when does microsoft software run under Microsoft OS's..
well, it does sometimes I guess, but not without the odd error msg, or BSOD!
