NAV 7.6 realtime scan failed to load
I installed NAV 7.6 on an NT 4.0 sp6 server, installed all the software needed, and on restart, got an error "real time scan failed to load" I uninstalled and reinstalled the software, and the error still came back.
Does any body have any any suggestions?
much appreciated.

Is that software compatible with nt 4.0/your system? is it written on the box? just curious for myself also.
I hope that someday we will be able to put away our fears and prejudices and just laugh at people.

Check the services for any indication of automatic startups which may have failed. You may have one in there that needs to "interact with the desktop" and the feature isn't activated. Or that specific service may need to use administrator rights to be launched.
NAV 7.6 needs NT4, SP5 minimum to run. <a href="http://enterprisesecurity.symantec.com/PDF/NAV_CE_76_final_fs.pdf?PID=9343034&EID=0" target="_blank">details</a> on the last page of this PDF.
Are you running any management software for NAV on this server?

I have checked the services and they are running, I did som research and found out that my mistake was installing NAV 7.6, over version 5, according to Symantec it's supposed to migrate OK, but no dice, what I need to know now is how to clean up the registry so there are no traces of the old version.
Any Ideas?
Thanks.
