How fast you been in a car?

in my mates mazda 1800 the speedo goes to 110mph, and i got it past there...dunno what that is in our km/h but it was quick anywayz.

Was out racing with my car club buddies one Friday night, and i hit 135 in my '99 Integra (5 speed) I ran out of strait road, just to give you an idea, I red line at 7,500 RPMs and, I hit 110 in 4th gear at about 7,300 That was a about one month ago, haven't come near that since and don't plan on it.

what ever ive done is slow by todays standards
watched my old 71 ambasador spedo get pegged i watched my 77 matadors speedo get pegged plenty o times and alighnment was right on could letgo the wheel
my gremlin needs a spoiler in front, she get light at anny thing above 100,, so im carefull, nothin else had highway gears in it, i did like a 110 in forth gear delivering my old kaw 350,through a housing development.. iwasnt eaven thinkin about 5th.. but what i did get to touch where 2 of craig breedloves , 68 or 9 javelins
2 out of 3 texas takeover cars, yeah ask an amc guy what they did way back,,or searchh the web, a few records were set, a friend restored 2 of em got to touch 1 a few times the second progect only once,i didnt have my camera with me, one of my high school friends runs a 9 second car , on the strip, i watched his old astra do like a buck 25 in like 9.5 seconds, ive watched the top fulers race, nothin beet watchin the windows of maple groves eleet section, towers , bow back and forth to the tune of the jet funny cars, yeah a rocket motor with weels, exibition use only ,, no way to slow em down,, so they just fine the driver if he hits the 300 per hour mark, yeah a speeding ticket at the drag strip!!! oh btw if yer gona speed be carefull . also keep a porche in front of you as bear meat. if you see tail light slow down!!!

Merc 650 SEL, I dunno how fast we were going, the leather seat was slippery, driver puts foot down and I am upside down behind driver, get back on the seat the right way up and he brakes and I am upside down behind seat again. The other occupants were screaming. Very, very nice car tho.

Mabye I'm worng (not a huge subaru fan) but they didn't start making the WRX till 2001, just a few months ago even. Now I know there was an Impreza line, it can be a part of a name like the wrx impreza or the impreza wagon. Is that what you are talking about?

I've gone 115 driving once. The funny thing was it was a 1982 Datsun Pickup and I would have never imagined it going that fast. I got in a "cut me off, I'll cut you off" disagreement on the road with the putz when I was younger. One of those guys that are always at the top of their class socially but wouldn't know a book from a pencil. We got on a backroad that was lucky to fit one car let alone two and we started racing. He apparently had a governor set at about 100 or that's as fast as his truck would go cause I smoked his @$$. That was glorious and I, now looking back on that day, was very glad I wasn't killed. The road dropped off to a lake on both sides. Oh well young and stupid in my day I guess.

Around 105-110 in my '93 Chevy Baretta with me driving...

Probably somewhere around 85-95 in a company car escort wagon (don't know the year) with me driving again; speedometer only went to 75, I think...

110 in an Eclipse (don't know the year) with someone else driving while sitting-more like crammed-in the back seat...

if I hit the redline in 3rd, by the time I hit the 4th gear, the gov kicks in.

Check out <a href="http://www.tccoa.com/articles/gears/gears.html" target="_blank">this site</a> - at the bottom, it tells the top speed at 5000 rpm - however it isn't the trans I have, but same car - and the t-5's aren't as strong. but thats a different story

My dad got our 91 Ford E150 Van up to 85 , going downhill in New Mexico. The fastest I've been is around 85 because there were a lot of cops on the road that day.
