    Post A sad day

The best dog I ever had, "Frank," had to be put to sleep today, after a five month ordeal with cancer. He was only three years old.

Those of you who know me, know of my involvment with obedience training. Not only was he a champion competitor, but he was my friend. In his whole life, we were apart for only three days. My wife and I will miss him more than I can say.

I'll finish this with a paraphrased quote by John Cam Hobhouse:

" "Near this spot are deposited the remains of one who possessed Beauty without Vanity, Strength without Insolence, Courage without Ferocity, and all the Virtues of man without his Vices. This praise, which would be unmeaning Flattery if inscribed over human ashes, is but a just Tribute to the Memory of "Frank," a Dog."

Deepest condolences, no matter what some may say, a good pet is part of the family and it is so hard when you lose a part of your family.

We just got some kittens 2 weeks ago, and they are already so much a part of our lives. I hope they continue to give us happiness and fill our lives with love for years.

I really do feel for you and hate to hear the bad news.

My heart truly goes out to you.

I don't know what I would do without my dogs. There are such a part of my life and they are so in tune with me and how I'm feeling...

My oldest was attacked and had acid thrown on him when he was only a couple years old(he's a miniture pinscher). He's not a very large dog, and I thought he was going to die. Luckily, he survived with a huge scar on his back to show for it. He constantly proves that I'm his favorite human being...when my roommate and I get into a fight, Turtle(my dog's name) always chooses my side and will ignore my roommate until we make up. And even then he waits to make sure things are really ok before warming up to her(my roommate) again.

Maggie is a Jack Russel/Rat Terrier mix. She's the peace maker of the two. She hates it when I am upset and will go to my bed and shake until I go comfort her and tell her it's ok.

I know Turtle(Turdy for short) won't live a full life because of the acid and it makes me sad to know that.

I love my dogs more than anything and I don't know what I would do if I had to lose one.

My roommate has a Rat Terrier/Welsh Corgi mix (puppy, which is twice the size of my two)and he is as much a part of the "family". It's fun to watch him mimic my two.

Again, my heart and thoughts go out to you.

Why can't they hurry up and perfect animal cloning?

I lost my dog earlier this year. We were gone on New years at a Party. The Fireworks around the area freaked him out and dug himself out of the yard. i spent a week looking for him until I found out that a chow mix was ran over at 3AM on New Years day. He was a black dog. He was my buddy. We would wrestle and play everyday after work. I miss him very much and i feel you pain man. My year started off very bad.

My sympathy goes out to you.

I love dogs. We have two and both of them are very special to my whole family. It's a very sad thing to lose a "family" member. You get to be very attached to them and do consider them a family member and unlike most people, they're always there for you.

    Again, sorry to hear that. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" />
