    Resolved [RESOLVED] Advice, please

I'd love to know what you guys think I should do with my site to make it more "visually appealing". I had my whole setup, but then I had to put the comet cursor button in...so I put it all the way down and just put a warning that if ya scroll, it's just the CC button...but anyway, advice would be much appreciated. Yes...I know I should put a windrivers link in there!

First piece of advice: give us the URL to your site so we can check it out.

Second piece of advice: dump Comet Cursor. It's spyware.

OK, first thing that happened when I went to your site was that 4 popup windows came up on screen. Not good.

Second thing: don't make mention on your site that it isn't finished, or have links that don't go anywhere, or underconstruction pages, or links that aren't active. It's a given that a website should be updated on a regular basis and is always growing and changing. You don't have to tell anybody that, and certainly don't highlight it on your front page.

Third: Red on black isn't that great to read. Dark fonts on a light background work better. Plus you need some graphics, colourful buttons to click, something besides black and red! I personally didn't find the site very visually appealing. Why don't you check out my site at http://www3.sympatico.ca/corey.reynolds and see what I did.

Now, spyware. Go to this site: http://www.spychecker.com/spyware.html for an explanation of what it is and why it's bad.

How about Spaceports? It has a banner and is free, but the banner is VERY unobtrusive..it's just a 468x60 image, no crap surrounding it.

I am hosting my site at DotEasy. 25$ a year with no banners and you get a domain name at the price.
