my laptop screen seems to have developed a fault
just noticed yestereday 2 lighter areas on my screen. one is about the size of half a 1 pence piece the other maybe 3mm across and the same high. they can only be seen when the screen turns black in a transitionary period... say from a games loading tittle to a menu.. when ever the screen turns black really... but not when its turned off.
the areas seem to be made up of many small dots....
this is obviously not right. the laptop has taken no damage, has been moved nowhere and is not subjected to extreme temperatures...
i have a one year parts and labour/ pick up warranty with dell. but am worried that they might try to charge me..since it looks to me as though the screen as been missued???? there are no knock marks and no signs of damage??
any ideas what the problem may be. why this may have occured.. they are not the typical dead spot pixel/tranistor ie one very light spot , always visible( i have had these before in laptop screens). these are large ish areas and i'm afraid that it might get worse over a space of time..
thanks

Without doing anything to void the waranty, can you make sure the cable (panel to pc board) is well connected?
I had something like that on a latitude and it was just 1 conductor not properly seated. Took off the connector, replaced it (push on it, dont be shy) and voilą!

lcd is the type of display used
Liquid Crystal Display.
CRT is the normal tv type monitor, lcd is the flat screen used on laptops.
