Fed up with this error
While playing Madden 2003 (and only Madden) I continually get this error after playing about 15 min or so. I've tried new drivers (video card) and new VIA drivers.
BSOD.....

I've tried the MS database repeatedly but I still get that it is a driver issue or I can't find anything.. Card is NOT o/c when it does this. PC IS o/c, but I don't have problems with other games. Please help, with FB season coming to a close, I need some consolation!

VERY VERY Common to Memory Problems,, Perhaps Due to overclocking.. Dual Sided Chip maybe?
Id Try Setting To Default speeds, Or Replace Memory.

Lowered settinga
Ok lowered my mem timings to HCLK instead of HCLK33. Game ran fine. I don't understand. Ran great with a score of 12K+ on HCLK33 3dMark2001SE. Burned in all components with SiSoft 10times without a glitch at HCLK33. It's just suddenly popped up with this problem on Madden. I lowered the timings and played for 2 hours with no probs and the vc oc'd. Is this a sign that the mem is going bad?

Okay a little more info
Playing in the SB with M2K3. Game gets real choppy and then locks up completely. I can hear the sound, game is locked. I rebooted and checked the event log for errors. This is what I got
GR SW Notify Error on 001 d3d09701 00000597 00001b08 00010f00 00000002
Source: NV
Event ID 13
This was repeated about 20 times. I played the game all last night and was in the 2nd half this morning with no problems. Checked the M$ database again with no help. Every problem continues to say "NV". I have thought about removing SP1 and all of the little SP2 patches after it. I want to reinstall XP, but I don't want to go through the hassle when it looks like a driver conflict somewhere. Also who knows how long it will take for M$ to give me a new product ID.

Ok, I'm A+ Certified and yet I can't solve this prob. Please some help! I think it is linked to SP1

Why don't you try Service Pack 2 or 3?

Service Pack 2 or 3
I have some SP2's, didn't know anything about sp3's?! It really sounds like a software problem to me. Simply because I continually get the NV4 errors. Ideas, helpful hints, jokes, anything?!

Some SP2's? I think you mean you have some Pre-SP2 patches. But you need to download the whole Service Pack.

SP2
I try to use Windows Update but I only get 2 or 3 nonessential fixes. Have you got a link to get the entire SP2 patch?
