Damn that site rocks! Thanks a bunch! Mine isn't exactly like one of them, but they do explain modifications very well, and great prices!

Ya_Know try a recycle station were they dismantle electronic goods. Perhaps they can spare a replacement cable.
Other option: a shop that take in old monitors for recycling.
