Sorry to interupt but can we get back to laptops?
Anyone have any thoughts on brands? Who is most durable? Who has the best screens? Best overall bang for buck?

If I am not mistaking, there have been several recommendations posted.
My questions bring up the difference between the Centrino and others.
But, Doc, Gollo, Damned Angel, and NooNoo have all given recommendations.
If you are asking for more input:

How about disk speed?
The only option they have for a hard drive with 7200 RPM is the 60 gig. I would rather go with the 30 gig 5400 RPM and save $200 but I don't want to sacrifice the performance.
I noticed the performance difference on my machine when I upgraded from 5400 to 7200. Would I notice the difference in a laptop? Are laptop hard drives any different than desktop hard drives (except for the size)?

You will notice the same difference....but speed=heat. Heat you don't want in a lappy.

Has anyone noticed heat problems with 7200RPM drives in laptops? Is there a big difference in the heat generated by the 7200RPM compared to the 5400RPM?
