via usb 2.0 not working on win98
hello, I purchased a via VT83C572 PCI to USB 2.0 card which worked properly at first on my win2k. however i had to format my disk and having an old pc decided to install win98 instead o win2k. ever since i have been unable to make my usb card work correctly. I`ve used the cd drivers, i`ve downloaded them from via's web site , well i've tried everything but still have the same problem with usb root hub. perhaps i should upgrade my bios but i'm worried i might cause more conflicts instead of solving anything. i'd apreciatte any help since i don't really know as much as wished to about pcs.
in case it's useful i have a pc chips M748LMRT mobo with a sis 620 chipset and a PIII 550 processor.

Welcome to Windrivers DerSteppenWolf
this site has some good information it may help.
What is the exact problem with the usb controller/hub? what device manager error code?
Is there a an irq assigned to usb in bios?
Have you tried turning off the onboard usb in bios?
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."
