Free Martha Now....
Presidential Pardon for Martha Stewart:
Sign the petition. The woman's been harmed enough!!!
She's learned her lesson, she'll never do it again. Why make an example out of her?
Why she's old enough to be your (and my) grandmother!!!
Do you really want to see her go to jail???.....

Hi there,
Blah, she is just greedy. If she didn't do what she did, she will only lose like a few grands in his friend stock. Rich peoples shouldn't get free, they should be all treated equally as anyone else who did the same thing.

With a little luck there'll be a webcam in her cell. Could get interesting either way ...
"Here's how I'm going to use a window treatment to improve the appearance of this room ..."
... or ...
"Come here, my little puppy."

If I lied to federal invetigators I would be going to jail, but I guess rich people better are than the rest of us. We should exonerate all the people indicted in those accounting scandals like Tyco and Worldcom, and how about those insider traders like Martha's buddy, Waskal who got her in this mess, they should be freed too. Jayson Williams shouldn't be on trial either. He only shot a limo driver. It's not like he shot someone with a 10 million dollar house or $100 million in the bank.

I don't believe she deserved the charges brought against her, even though I fully believe she was guilty of insider trading. I don't think she actively sought or habitually used insider information so I don't believe she was 'guilty enough' to warrant the case against her.
However she was once employed trading stocks and she did know better. She should have come clean and assisted the investigation. A slap on the wrist and a stiff fine would probably have been her penance.
She chose to lie to the investigators and fight the charges. She is an intelligence business woman with personal in depth knowledge of the laws governing stock trading. She knew the risks and took her chances. Having made her bed I believe she should get to lie down in it.
Even though her net worth has tumbled, she's still enormously wealthy. She'll go to some country club prison where she gets her own little prison suite that's probably a lot nicer than the apartments I could afford while I was in college. On top of that she'll probably have frequent release passes to go home or to work for many hours or even a days at a time. Even in prison her life will probably be better than yours or mine.
I seriously doubt she'll be thrown into your run of the mill federal penitentiary with drug trafficers, prostitutes, thieves, and murderers. I could be wrong about all of that to be sure but I'm willing to bet prison life for Martha won't be all that hard to deal with.
If it's true that wherever you go, there you are: how come so many people look lost?

Hi there,
Well, she can always help the woman in jail, teaching them to be, well, a better person.
