XP Searching Issue
Has anyone seen a problem when doing a file search in Windows XP Pro. The porblem i am having is when i do a search i will start to show the matches (in detailed view) after a few matches, there will be a couple blank rows and then more matches. If i click on one of the blank rows the file then appears. Also if i hit F5 for a refresh then the "blank lines" now show the files. I also have a issue when you do a thumbnail search some images show and other images do not show, once again you hit F5 and they now appear. This is a new PC, P4 3 ghtz, 1 gig of ram, 128 MB video card. Any ideas?
Thanks
Rick

Have you updated the video and chipset drivers?

Yes, updated both no problem. The problem seems to only occur with one hard drive in one of there 2 servers. The search problem that is occuring is when you search for g2* (for example) and use My Computer for the search in. It looks at the all the network drives and finds all the files, but between some of the matches there will be some blank lines.
Example:
g285739.jpg Drive C Local PC.
g245853.jpg Drive F
g245935.jpg Drive F
g259393.jpg Drive T
g295392.jpg Drive M
after the search is finished, you press F5 and then the blank areas appear.
Example:
g285739.jpg Drive C Local PC.
g245853.jpg Drive F
g245935.jpg Drive F
g245948.jpg Drive G
g289604.jpg Drive G
g229993.jpg Drive G
g259393.jpg Drive T
g295392.jpg Drive M
This is very stange. Both the server and his PC are using Gigbit NIC's going into Gigbit ports on there Cisco Switch.

Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."

Though I know it is not answering your original post at all - I quit using Windows File finder utility a long time ago - its just too shabby.
Nowdays I am using Coolfind (http://www.coolfilesearch.com/) - it has many features that Windows serach utility can only dream of...
