My Laptop cant play/read any DVD/CD/VCD
Hi, everyone. I hope i write this mail in the right channel
I have Toshiba Satellite 1800 with PIII 800 with DVD Teac DV-28E-A.
Here is the story, At first my DVD can play everything but after I installed an adsl program (CD Rom) i cant play DVD anymore but still can play CD-ROM after sometime my DVD-Rom cant read anything except my only Game which is always being put inside. So its very funny, nothing cant be read except that cd game (AOE game).
I hope someone cant give me advise/suggestion.

teutonicknight, Welcome to Windrivers
What windows are you running, which adsl program did you install? If you uninstall it, does the drive read again?
What are you using to read dvds?

When I still could run DVD I used HeroSoft 2001. It was a Chinese free program to watch DVD. Now it also cant work anymore.
As I said before, my DVD cant read data nor DVD, but only 1 cd that can be read which is AOE CD Game. Also when I uninstall that adsl software I still have same problem. :-(
Please give me more clue.

What windows? What adsl software?
Try booting from a dos disk and see if this dos dvd player can play something Please note this is only to test the drive, the dos player does not work at full speed.
