3d pipes freezes my pc

my pc is freezing whenever my 3d pipes screen saver starts. It would be easy to stop using the screen saver, but I am curious to know if this is really the problem or is there something else I should be focusing on?

Do you have any problems running any OpenGL games? Are you overclocking your CPU? Have you tested your memory? Have you updated to the most recent chipset drivers for your motherboard and video card? Have you updated your BIOS to the most recent version? What version of windows are you using? Have you found any conflicts in device manager?
