Floppy drive grinding
I'm running xp pro and have noticed all of a sudden my floppy seems like it's constantly trying to access something. I have cleared my recent documents and it doesnt seem to be the antivirus, does anyone have any other ideas? It mainly seems to do it when I try to open files or programs.
Thanks.

Geezer
So things to try ..
Norton Systemworks installed on the system ? Disabling auto protect stops the A: drive from being accessed all the time...
Try saving a Notepad document. Just a blank will do. The Save in: panel will open and I bet it will open to the floppy. Change to another directory and save the file. It might be remembering a last failed Save action and is trying to repeat it ?
Spyware or malware might maybe be another thing (have a look at the 'sticky' in the AV forum if you think thats a potential one).
The more you tell us about just whats happening when, then the more chance there'll be of someone 'sussing it'
