Question about Win XP Desktop Icons
This may seem stupid and simple but here it goes, my friend was using my computer and did something (he says he doesn't know what) but now all my desktop icons have the solid colour background instead of transparent like you would expect.
Does anyone know how to make the icon's text background on the desktop go back to transparent?
In Win XP, usually the text has no box around it, as shown in the image below! However, I was playin around with the backgrounds, and the Desktop Icons all changed and they now have a "Highlight Box" around them. I can change the colours, but does anyone know how to take that box away again to make it transparent?
Thanks

go to the control panel, select system->advanced tab->select the first button performance 'settings' button
if custom is selected go to the next to last item and check 'use drop shadows for items on the desktop'

Thank you craig, sometimes its the simple things that stump us. I should have remembered that but was looking for something more difficult I guess.
Once again thank you
