Try removing everything from the startup tray and see how much ram is lost.
There will be some process running in the background hogging all the memory.
I've found software like Norton Crash Guard more trouble than its worth.
Good day to be alive, sir

I think that this is more of a post to be in the Windows Forum than the Bios/Motherboard forums, but here goes...
Disable/Get Rid of/Destroy all Media for Norton Crash Guard. This doesnt help you at all! Since you're running Norton CG, might you also be running Norton SystemWorks? Try uninstalling that too if you have it.
Also, try MSConfig, remove some of the programs at startup as well.
Good old NetWare 3.11... if only modern O/Ss were made of the same stuff. Forget Windows 2000 for 99.999% uptime, this one had it ten years ago.

On a wild guess here: your video card would'nt be the "share memory" type by any chance ?

There are some boards actually that do have TNT2 graphics onboard, but it won't come to me who the manufacturer is. Damn I hate it when that happens.
