Welcome to windrivers yea1234. Much more info required:
- Make and model of computer
- Make and model of sound card (if known)
- Version of windows
- Any yellow ! or ? in device manager?
- Do other system sounds work?
Probability factor of one to one...we have normality, I repeat we have normality. Anything you still can't cope with is therefore your own problem.

Should be a sticker on the side that has a service tag number or a label on the back of the machine with serial number, etc.

According to Dell that's an invalid service tag...are you sure that was it?

Ok...let's start over.
Is your machine a desktop or a tower? Does it have a number underneath
the power button like this:
If we can determine the model, I can find you the drivers. Have you looked at the back of the computer to see if the model # is listed?

It's either an Analog Devices ADI 198x Integrated Audio
driver is here:
http://www.soundcard-drivers.com/drivers/88/88232.htm
(you'll want to download R49606.exe)
or it's a Creative Labs Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 Digital (Dell)
drivers are here:

Welcome to windrivers Lopez.
As stated above you will need to be more specific on your computer to help you with sound. Do you have a Mfg computer: Compaq, Hewlett Packerd,
Dell, And others or do you have one someone built for you? Need to know
if you have on board sound or sound card. When you go to Device Manager
do you see any yellow exclamation symbols?

Welcome to Windrivers hugo575
First, update to Service Pack 2, many sound problems were fixed with SP2.
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."
