WinXP Pro Security
I have a simple problem that seems to be eluding me at the moment. A small network, peer-to-peer, using a central "File Server" for document storage. The system is using a mix of Win 98 and Win XP Pro clients. The Directors folder needs to be secure for his access only with password. I can't see a way of doing this on one folder only with out doing it to all folders. Under normal circumstances that wouldn't be a prob but other folders are used by multiple users, many of whom volunteers.
Any help would be appreciated.

Is the central file "server" a XP Pro box and is it running NTFS or FAT32? For starters, you need NTFS to get file and folder permissions. After that, it's a matter of right clicking the folder, securities tab, and make your adjustments to various users as needed. Understand, that because you are decentralized, user management is also decentralized, so you will need to setup users with the same password on every workstation where permissions are going to come into play.
