    Exclamation DELL Laptop BIOS password

I have a Dell Latitude CP notebook computer that has a power on password that the customer forgot... i tried disconnecting the CMOS battery but to no avail. Has anyone had a similar problem or maybe a generic password? I CANNOT get to DOS or boot from floppy. Or is there another CMOS battery or jumper?

Not that I am aware of, but AS A LAST RESORT I can email you a copy of a tiny utility called killcmos. put it on a boot floppy and execute it. (Assuming you can boot to a floppy)
I would only use it as a last resort. I've used it a couple of times in a pinch, but I would hate to see it blow up because of some proprietary glitch that Dell threw in.

Download KILLCMOS save it to the floppy, after downloading it go to DOS prompt, type,
A:\killcmos.com then ENTER, you will get a flash then you will see the native CMOS, just power down the computer for 20sec, then restart, you will have to go into bios and reset everything.

Did you try calling Tech Support to see what they had to say about it?

Just seeing what all the options are before running KILLCMOS.
