Printer Problem
Hello,
I am trying to install a Primera Signature IV CD Printer and its giving me a very hard time. The first time I installed it everything worked fine, about a month later I had my hard drive crash and was required to install a new one. Since then I have not been able to get this printer to work properly. I use the supplied CD to install the drivers, works great but after about an hour or two of using the computer, if I try and use it again I get an error saying there isnt enough memory available or something to that extent. I can restart and then it will work again for a little while, but if I just go into printers and faxes and try and look at the properties of the printer it tells me its not installed and prompts me to reinstall it again.. This is on a fesh XP Pro SP2 install on a fully formatted, freshly partitioned HD. The pc is a 3.6ghz P4 with 1 gig of ram so I dont understand why it would say there isnt enough memory, not to mention the fact that it worked fine on my other HD. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated, I'm ready to throw the thing out the window

Little more information would help.
What is the printer USB?
Did you install the chipset drivers when you redid XP?

I have seen this problem happen a lot with most printers especially if you hook the printer up and allow windows to find the driver. Most brand name printers require you install the software first then hook the printer up. As to the eror message concerning the memory, do a file search for "normal.dot" and delete all instances of it. Hope this helps.

Ferrit: No it is not USB, parrell. Good question on the chipset drivers, I believe I did but perhaps I should again to be sure.
Zonie: It was installed as per instructions with the printer. I will try the normal.dot, thanks.
