So if the file on your hard-drive is complete, then its the burning side of things going wrong .. DVD shrink should produce you a directory with 'smaller' versions of the vobs & whatever content you choose not to strip out - which should just work in 'any old bit' of dvd player s/w as is ..

Have you defragged your hard drive? If the hard drive is badly fragmented it could be causing you problems.

dvd wouldnt burn properly if there was something wrong with the data
remember to verify contents too, if using Nero. And try it on a few other players.

I was just thinking that perhaps he (or the program) hadn't selected all the files for a complete movie - vobs can only be 1gb max (I think) - so if you miss say the last one (extremes always being the things that go wrong in programming, as you add 1 when you shouldn't have etc in loops) that on a 4.5 gig dvd is just about right ... Harry can prove this to himself maybe by playing the last but one vob independently & seeing if that 'coincidentally' stops at the same point as his supposedly complete movie ?

tell dvdshrink or whatever to burn to an iso, then mount it on a virtual drive to see if it's ok.
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."

DVD shrink is just a re-encoder on its own, so it produces a directory with playable vobs in it, so no need even to make an iso.
