    Those are some very very big trees, thank goodness no one was under them!

    Yeah sorry the power went out again as I was writing and uploading. The blue house in the pics above is my house, as you can see it suffered less than the houses a couple of doors down. The house with the tree on it is four house away from mine. Evry second house has a tree on it or trees up rooted like that. Amazingly the trees that uprooted are ALL the ones non native to our area. Many of the palms survived...hmmm now I know why there are mainly ONLY palm trees in the tropics.

    I just went for a drive nearer to town and ours is the only surburb lit. No streetlights thoguh but thank god we have power in the homes. Its amazing we were the worst hit suburb but because of our CRAPworks we were the first back on. I will never complain of the stench again. The roads are being slowly cleared, even at 9pm at night the sound of chainsaws is loud throughout the suburb. Everyones just piling the mass of trees on their footpaths, including me, I do hope they have a truck in the next week or so to clear it up

    The kids school is devastated so they wont be going anywhere tomorrow, hmm its funny though, they werer smiling when we saw the school. Anyone would think they are glad of the days off.

    You were in all our thoughts and prayers. Glad to see you made it through.

    The cleanup took forever here. There are still houses where I live with tarps on their roof.
