    is it possible

    can one install and run Mac OS x on a PC..it seems, now, one can run win-xp on an Apple why not the reverse?

    forgive my ignorance, i'm only wondering how i can keep my PC and get rid of "windows".

    no, the other OS's (Linux, etc.) do not interest me

    (mod edit) = we are called WINdrivers here for a reason.

    This is NOT the forum area for a rant against Bill Gates or anyone else - sorry! I think you want the 'Politicos' area.

    My opinion anyway.

    A simple google search would have given you the answer there without you feeling the need to blast Mr gates and windows.

    Windows has the larger market share for many reasons. If one feels that one could do a better job creating a platform for pc's then they are quite welcmome to do it. But really, I for one get tired of armchair users blasting windows when they have done nothing to create or build one for themselves.

    http://www.google.com.au/search?hl=e...+on+a++pc&meta=

    People have long wanted to run the Mac OS operating system on PC hardware, specifically on Intel and AMD architectures. But despite pleas and prayers, that wish remains unfulfilled.

    Although running Mac OS natively on PC hardware is not possible, there is another option--running Mac OS X on an emulator. In this article, I will show you how to install and run Mac OS X Panther on your PC using PearPC, a free, architecture-independent PowerPC platform that runs on PCs. To check out PearPC's features, go to the PearPC-PowerPC Architecture Emulator web site.

    Yes you can
    and it can be done in ways that do not insult others or their work. This is a PC based forum. I am sure your opinion will be welcome on mac forums.

    An OS X related operating system with x86 comptability is GNU-Darwin, this might be worth experimenting with.

    The new MacBook's that run off Intel CPU's are allowed to dual boot with both Mac OS and Windows.

    That's my thought too. Why buy a mac if you want to run windows, or buy a pc if you want to run a mac os?

    btw, i read an interesting article the other week where they were predicting that with macs using intel chips now, soon apple will become a hardware vendor only, producing their "cute" and "trendy" hardware, and loading it with windows.

    It was an interesting read, I'll post the link if I can find it.
