Im trying to set a webcam up.......
.... but my computer asks me to put in my original Win 98 rom because there is a missing .dll file or something.
But thats as far as I can get the rom doesnt solve the problem.
If you can suggest any ways forward I will be grateful, if not thanks anyway.

I think its asking you to point it ot the win98 "directory" on the webcam cd.
What webcam?

Thankyou for your reply Ferrit.
The webcam is called Mikomi M6219
I wonder if there is something fundamentally wrong with the pc, because each time I boot up it reminds me of the missing .dll file ?
Thanks anyway.

I'm afraid that I don't know Larommi. At boot I get this message
SYSTEM.INI refers to this device file but the device file no longer exists
vredir.vxd
and when I click on the webcam icon
the drivers for this device are not installed (code 28)
truly sorry to be so unhelpful.

That should help you fix that missing file
As to the camera.
I think all you need to do is,
If its installed then do a driver update and direct it manually to the win98 directory on the cd
If it isnt insta;lled try the Add hardware wizard and again manually direct it to the
win98 directory on the cd

Thankyou for taking the trouble to reply Ferrit. I am on my day off so may have another look at this. So it looks as though if I can find the missing file on the Rom then I can transfer it to where it should be ?
